These terms are an agreement between you and iotBind ("iotBind", "we") for the use of the iotbind.com website, the platform, the apps and the APIs (together, the "service"). Please read them carefully.
Acceptance
By creating an account or using the service, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms on its behalf. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
The service
iotBind is a personal project to support the community of IoT developers. It is a cloud platform that lets you connect your own devices, store the data they send, control them and receive notifications through the website, apps and APIs. Features depend on your plan and may change or stop at any time.
Your account
- Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your password and device keys secret. You are responsible for activity under your account and keys.
- Tell us at once if you suspect unauthorised use.
- You must be old enough to accept these terms in your country (see "Educational use and minors" in the privacy policy).
Acceptable use
You must not use the service to:
- break the law or the rights of others, or store unlawful content;
- send spam, malware or attacks, or try to get around limits, security checks or access controls;
- overload the service, for example with automated requests beyond your plan;
- access accounts, devices or data that are not yours;
- copy, resell or rebuild the service without our written permission.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules, after a warning when possible.
Not for critical systems
The service is designed for DIY, education, home and general monitoring projects. It is not designed or certified for systems where a failure or delay could cause death, injury, serious damage or environmental harm (for example medical devices, vehicle control, fire or gas safety, industrial safety systems). You must not rely on it for such uses, and you alone bear the consequences if you do.
Plans and payments
The free plan is offered without charge, within its limits. Paid plans, when available, are described on the pricing page and in the platform. Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel; you can cancel at any time and the plan stays active until the end of the paid period. Payments are processed by payment providers. Amounts paid are not refunded, including for a started period. Prices for future periods may change; the current prices are always shown on the pricing page.
Your data
You keep all rights to the data your devices send. You allow us to host, process and display it only to provide the service to you. You are responsible for having the right to collect the data your devices capture (for example location data of other people), and for keeping your own copies of any data that matters to you. You can export or delete your data, and we handle personal data as described in the privacy policy.
Availability and changes
We try to keep the service available and secure, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Maintenance, updates or events beyond our control can cause interruptions or loss of data. We may change, limit or remove features, or stop the service. You may cancel at any time.
Third-party services
The service can work with services we do not control, such as Telegram, MQTT.one, payment providers or your own servers. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for them.
Intellectual property
The service, its software, design, texts and the iotBind name and logo belong to us or our licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive right to use the service; they do not transfer any ownership. Open-source components keep their own licenses.
Ending the agreement
You may stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or when needed to protect the service or its users. After closure, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.
Disclaimer
The service, free or paid, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including availability, accuracy, security, preservation of data and fitness for a particular purpose. You use it entirely at your own risk.
No liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, iotBind and the person running it accept no liability of any kind, on the free plan or on paid plans, for any direct, indirect or consequential damage or loss, including loss of data, profits or business, damage to devices or property, and harm caused by your devices, by interruptions of the service, by security incidents or by the use of the service for any purpose. You alone bear full responsibility for your use of the service and its results. If you are not satisfied with the service, your only remedy is to stop using it.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using the service after an update, you accept the new terms; if not, you may close your account.
